Selling Drugs Door To Door

Hi, my name is Sam Taggart and we are diving into one of these door approaches where this guy gets caught on a doorbell camera. This video then gets uploaded to youtube, or whatever, and I’m gonna analyze his pitch because all of this one is through a doorbell camera. He’s out selling pest control, but let’s watch what he does!
Ring The Doorbell Camera
First off, what do you do with the doorbell camera? A lot of people don’t even knock when there is a doorbell camera. Or, they’ll knock and hope the person doesn’t come through the doorbell. He straight up rings the doorbell camera. So, in my opinion, sometimes it’s like I just skip the doorbell camera and try to avoid this whole scenario. So, let’s watch what happens. It’s pretty interesting. So, look, he’s acting all disinterested right now. He’s like oh you know, I’m busy. Maybe I’m putting in numbers from an area, maybe I’m just playing Candy Crush.
Use Assumptive Language
“Hey sorry to make you come to the door. I‘ll be real quick, don’t worry.” This iscool. What did he do right there? I love it. He said “Sorry to make you come to the door, I’ll be real quick.” What he’s doing there is he’s playing in some assumptive language he’s playing into this like I’m gonna make you come out. That is such a wizard play right there. What he should have done is turned and just kind of stepped down here. Like hey, sorry to make you come to the door, I’ll be real quick, and then turned around and walked away from the camera. That would have been the thing I would have done a little differently here.
Smooth Objection Handling
So, he stays in the pocket of the porch here, she tells him her husband has Covid and let’s see what let’s see where he takes it and how he responds. “Well, I’m vaccinated and I’m really not that worried about it.” Okay, I love it. He lets her know he is not really worried about it and he overcomes the objection smoothly. He just kind of chills. But now, I love his dance moves. I don’t know where he’s going with the dance moves, but it’s exciting!
Be Creative
Okay, now she asks him what he is selling here, and let’s see what he says. “Drugs. I got it all not at all. The methazine, percs, Adderalls, what do you guys need?” Alright, hold on. Let’s rewind here because you have to hear that again. Let’s rewind this back. So, she’s like, what are you selling? And he is like Drugs. What do you guys need? He even does a head nod. He’s like even got the head down. Okay, but he isn’t selling drugs, and shes like, WHAT? So, let’s see what he says next. “Don’t worry, I’m joking. I’m doing the mosquitoes and spiders out in the yard around the house. I’m getting everyone done.” This is just too good. He is over here playing a game and making it fun. Again with the assumptive language. He is saying he is getting everyone done. I love it.
Be Persistent
So, what would be going through my head in this scenario is- I’m not going to close somebody through a doorbell camera. You know what I mean? A lot of times people are like what do I do through a doorbell camera? But, you’re not gonna sell them. So, he’s just like, I’m going to have fun. He throws a hail mary and if it happens, it happens. If not, I gotta move on to the next house. So, I really appreciate this guy for just showing up. He’s like, I’m bored. Why not mix it up and just mess with people? Like, he sits there and he’s like yeah I’m done. I gave it three or four good passes and then he’s like all right I’m done and moves on.
Remember That Not Everyone Is Your Customer
This is an important lesson. He moved on because he knows that not everybody is your customer. Not everybody is going to be like oh, okay, yeah, let me just come outside and buy this thing or whatever you’re peddling. But, I love how he operated the doorbell cam. I don’t know if you want to use the drugs gimmick, ya know? With the wrong customer, drugs could have gone horribly wrong. But, maybe with the right customer that could have been like, this guy’s pretty funny yeah, I’ll be right out in two seconds. Who knows? I love that he was creative. I love that he was positive. I love that he’s in the flow and he’s like all right, I’m going. I loved it. I loved all of this.
