How To Get More Personal Recruits
How do I go after my friends and family and personal network to go recruit more of them? Raise your hand high, cause this is gonna determine where we’re gonna spend our time. You guys get to write the script to this speech. I’m more of an ad lib kind of guy. Who wants to learn about how to get more personal recruits? Raise your hand guys.
Reach Out, Even If You Think They Will Say No
Your personal re recruits are the strongest, best recruits. Fact. Like, the best recruits are people in your network. That is a fact. The biggest problem is that you guys are like, well, I don’t wanna call my cousin, who’s an engineer, and tell him to come quit his job where he is making 120k a year to come do roofs. He’s going to look at me and be like, hell no. Have you ever had that feeling? Raise your hand. Yeah, like I, I literally told one of my best friends. I said, you gotta drop outta med school and come sell to door.
Be Persistent
You have to be persistent though. What do you think he told me when I told him to drop out of med school to come sell door to door? He was like, no. The next year I ask him, dude, why are you still in med school? You gotta come do door to door. In two years into med school I tell him, dude, come sell. The next year, dude, you gotta drop outta med school and come do door to door. He’s like, no, I’m three years into med school, I’m going to be a doctor, not a door to door loser. I was like, what’d you say? Did you just say door to door loser? The next year, I reach out. I was like, I know you hurt my feelings last year, but I’m gonna give you another chance. He’s like, did you hear me? And I said, that’s it, dude, you’re coming and selling. I’m sick of trying to recruit you. Brandon looks at me and he is like, okay, I have a three week gap between my next semester. I’ll come try it out. This is the fourth year of me asking. And I was like, yes, I got him for three weeks, but that’s all I need. And, that was all I needed. Two weeks in, and after making 25 grand, he goes. My first two weeks, I don’t even know what I’m doing and I made myself 25,000 bucks. He’s broke as a joke. He’s hundreds of thousand dollars in debt from med school, already. He knows he is on like a seven year track to go be a doctor. He looks at me and he is like, What did you just do to me?What is this inside? I’m like, it’s very similar to heroin. It’s called else commissions. And I just made you an addict.
Well, this was like six years ago. I actually just got off the phone with him yesterday. What’s funny is because, I had a girl that was like, oh I wanna sell solar, blah, blah, blah. And I was like, Hey call my buddy Brandon, he’ll train you. He’s my boy. Well, I actually was trying to recruit him again to come be an expert on our team. He’s like, dude, I’m making a hundred thousand dollars a month, just in overrides, just on my team. I personally made a hundred thousand. He’s like, I’m on track to make close around 2 million bucks this year. Like, I’m not gonna come work for you. But I remember, his second year he text me a gratitude novel. You know, when you get those text, that’s like, oh my gosh, thank you. He wrote a book. Has anybody gotten one of those from somebody you’re like, wow, where’s chapter three. You know what I mean? So literally I’m reading this novel and he is just sitting there going, you literally changed my life. You changed my destiny. You literally woke me up. I look back to where if I would still be going deeper into debt, hating life in med school, living somewhere that I don’t wanna live. But, I’m sitting in my backyard around my friends and family. I’ve traveled the world. I make more money than I know what to do with. Thank you so much novel. Has anybody got one of those texts? So, do not quit asking. Be persistent.
Don’t Be Selfish
Here is the biggest problem with recruiting your personal recruits. Why you don’t go after your personal network, is you’re selfish. Fact. The biggest problem is you’re like I could do this job, but no one else can. I can make hella money, but they can’t. They’re not cut out for this. That’s you projecting your like insecurities, like no. The biggest problem is you’re just straight up selfish. I had it in me to say to that guy, I’m going to change your life. Wake you up. Have the confidence to say door to door is cooler than being a doctor. But, most of you guys are ashamed of what you do. That’s why you are afraid to go after your own personal network, that’d be like telling me that you can’t sell your friend a roof. I don’t wanna sell my friend and family a roof. I wouldn’t do my mom’s house, but I’d do anybody else. That’s a stranger. You’re not confident in your own product. You’re not confident your company could do a good job. You don’t want to do your mom’s house? If you’re confident in your job, you’re confident in your company, you’re going to go tell em to work for, won’t you? And you’re gonna be like, let’s go, come jump on my wagon. I’m going to change your life. I literally just sat down with you. You’re like, man, I didn’t realize that roofing can make good money. He’s like as long as I can make 70 grand and feed my family, I’m good. And he’s like, oh my gosh, this is my track to be a millionaire. You literally just said that. Don’t you think there’s other people out there that are like, oh my gosh, this is their track to be a millionaire too. Don’t you think don’t be selfish?
