Hey guys, my name’s Sam Taggart and I’m gonna actually walk you through like how do you get started in door to door. Cause a lot of times people are like, Man, I wanna sell. I get hit up all the time and they’re like, Well, I don’t even know where to go or what to sell or how do I get started or what company? Um, I’m gonna walk you through how to pick that. And so let’s, let’s like, like dive into this.
The first one is what’s your situation? So, situation. It really has to do with some people want to move. Some people are broke as heck. Some people have money in the bank, some people have families and kids and they really don’t wanna knock at night. Some people wanna work during the day. Some people like to travel, some people hate to travel. Figure out what your situation because product and company are gonna dictate what that looks like. If you have a company that’s just a summer program, you’re working for four or five months and that’s very common in door to door. If you’re like, Well, I need to make money all year. I’m not in school. I want to make a career out of just a year round program, then you’re gonna want to do something a little bit more year round. All the industries have programs for that, but certain companies specialize on different programs. So, you wanna make sure you’re picking the right company there, which leads me into the second one.
Pick A Product
So I’ve gotta pick an industry or product slash area. Some of you guys, I would actually recommend moving because you guys can’t handle your own backyard. It’s really hard to sell right where you live. A lot of people have struggle with discipline. They can’t actually get themselves to go knock 15 minutes away. What I would say is, okay, maybe you do move and actually relocate and say I’m two feet in. Some people say, Okay, I need to knock where I’m at cause I can’t move. And then you gotta pick your product. How I determine product is simply one, am I experienced it sales and I’m okay selling a bigger product and a longer sales cycle, or am I brand new into sales and I like, I really want low risk and higher, higher volume. So pest control, you know, garbage and waste management, satellite, you know, they’re a little bit higher volume and you know, the bigger sales might be like solar, roofing, home improvement, windows, things like that that are lower volume but bigger commission.
Pick A Company
Okay? So now number three is you gotta say, okay, let’s pick the company. Now, a lot of you guys might not know who companies are. Every company’s always hiring. They’re looking for talented people that are ambitious, hungry. The way I pick a company is I figure out do they align with my core values? The fourth step is you gotta get trained, right? So, let’s say you sign up with a company, you gotta go get trained. Now I have an online university. If you’re really wanting to get deep dive into like the nuts and bolts, uh, but make sure that you go to the company that has a program for training. We have over a hundred and something companies that use our program. You’d be surprised and a lot more sign up, but you could sign up as a single user. But some companies, they’re gonna say, Come work here and good luck. And they throw it to the wolves. I would avoid that company, I really would because it shows, it’s a sign of they don’t take the time or money and invest in their people and training. If you’re looking for somebody who wants to be legit, make sure that you have legit training.
Then the last step is go hustle. So many people, they start door to door and fail because they never actually turn on their hustle muscle. They never fully dive in, they never fully commit and they’re not willing to do the gritty work and the grind it takes to actually be successful in this industry. Those that do and say, I’ve got train, I’ve got the right company, I’ve got the opportunity, you’re driving the Lambo, some drive it in eighth gear, some drive it always in first gear. This is a great opportunity. I don’t care what industry where you’re selling, it’s a great opportunity cause you get to eat what you kill and there are no limits. I know people that have made millions and millions of dollars in this industry. You can too. It’s just up to you whether you’re gonna do it or not.
So the simple formula and the simple way to get into door door sales is figure out what’s my situation? Where am I at? What’s the product and area that I I can get behind and where do I wanna be? And then what company really aligns with my, my direction, my situation that’s there to help train me and can actually motivate me to get out and hustle. So there’s your simple way to do it.
